BOOK REVIEW | Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

4/5 stars

*I received a digital advanced reader copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

From the publisher:
In this world he’s woken up to, Jason’s life is not the one he knows. His wife is not his wife. His son was never born. And Jason is not an ordinary college physics professor but a celebrated genius who has achieved something remarkable–something impossible.

Is it this world or the other that’s the dream? And even if the home he remembers is real, how can Jason possibly make it back to the family he loves? The answers lie in a journey more wondrous and horrifying than anything he could’ve imagined—one that will force him to confront the darkest parts of himself even as he battles a terrifying, seemingly unbeatable foe.

My thoughts:
“Are you happy with your life?”

Blake Crouch invites readers to ask themselves this question when going on the journey that is Dark Matter. If you could choose another life, would you?

Let me start by saying that this book is a total thrill ride! It’s amazing how such a crazy concept can feel so real. Crouch does a fantastic job of blurring the lines between fiction and reality, leaving the reader spinning  (in the best possible way), and questioning the choices they might make if given the opportunity. It’s difficult to say much more about this book without spoiling the fun, so I’ll leave it there. A fun, intense, action filled read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Crown Publishing for the copy!
